I was on Myspace today & when I checked my mail, I noticed a little bar telling me I could add a search feature to my mail, & naturally I thought, "This could be handy..." & handy it was. My friend Amy & I were just talking the other day, & we remembered a survey I posted in a bulletin years ago (come to find out it was March 1, 2007 to be exact), & tons of people replied to it, because I'm a silly little bitch. I knew it was hiding in my inbox, just waiting to be found, just waiting to be relived, but alas...I have 500 pages of messages in my inbox on Myspace & it would take me forever to find it. as soon as i came out of the womb. my parents tattooed "FINKE" across my back in an old english style font.

a tiger followed by the phrase "i aint never scared" on my right calf. i got it done when i was in nam.

4. Which tattoo is closest to your heart?
the sweet ass soccer ball i got tattooed on my left tit.

5. Do you have a matching tattoo with someone?:
yeah, my best friend patricia and i got the iguanas hockey team logo on our ribcages. man was that a crazy tuesday! no more drinking on our lunchbreak! but it was worth getting fired, right patty?

6. Do you have a tattoo that someone messed up?
i was supposed to get "no limits" on my lower back, but they accidentally put "no boundaries" and i am not a walmart poster child, so i got it covered. its now a tarantula eating its offspring and
george w smith headbanging out of control. its actually a hologram. if i dance all sexy, you can see him jam out. with his clam out.

sure do. i have a huge piece on my back with all the signatures on the declaration of independence. john hancocks is the biggest, naturally. thats what she said. ;)

the members of "tatu" on each foot.

no. im a winner. winners dont cry. WINNERS NEVER CRY.

the dodge durango i got on my face. that was probably not a good choice.

hepatitis a. through z.

i like to wiggle a lot to make it more interesting. like spin art.

14. What is the biggest tattoo that you have and how long did it take?
the penis i got on my right thigh. im right-handed, so i figured i would "dress to the right" as well. and im not modest about my large piece of art either.

15. Have you ever gotten a tattoo of something just because it was funny or shocking?
well i got a didgeridoo on the other thigh to even it out, because that other thigh piece sure is a heavy tattoo...and i guess thats funny. i dont know. i thought it to be more practical than anything really.

16. Do you have any unfinished projects on you right now?
not really. i was going to get my favorite pair of chonclas on my left shoulder, but at the last minute i changed my mind and got a pelican taking a piss in the ocean and flicking off the sun.

17. Has anyone (i.e. parents or girlfriend/boyfriend) gotten pissed over a tattoo you got?
i let some guy from the bank piss ON several of my tattoos. twice.

18. Do you have any tattoos in places that most people don't get to see unless they see you naked?
apparently most people dont get the word, "NIOSA" tatted across their vagine. i was shocked to find that out. i happen to think its ultra sexy.

i have a whole crowd on my torso that is all fighting and climbing over each other in order to peek inside my bellybutton. its so realistic and crazy. def one of my favs. thanks dylan!

im not going to get "old". havent you ever read "tuck everlasting" fool? get a life.

i regret typing this rather than getting even more tattoos! im wasting so much time.

no i will just keep covering them and see what happens. lifes a beautiful journey, aint it?

I apologize in advance for my appearance & behavior. And now, a rant...

JUST SO YOU KNOW! Where did those breastmonsters in my dress come from? My boobs look huge (to me, anyway), while they are in fact, not huge at all. Please ignore those, & don't get excited, or disgusted, whichever of the two you were planning on doing. Don't do it. Please be nice to me :/ ALSO, if you are a creepo like me & you plan on clicking on that video to open it in youtube to see my profile & what other videos I might have...yes I do have about 15 I think, but they're all from 2006 & 2007. So don't judge me, homeskilley. That was a LONG time ago. Ok, moving along now, to happy things...

I was on the front page again! I was excited, because sales have been super slow, & this gave me a push to keep going. Then yesterday, I made 4 sales! Hell yes! It feels like forever since that's happened, so I was definitely in the best mood last night. Also, I ran a lot, so that helped.

I have been creating my little ass off (so my belly may not be small, but my bottom is almost non existant. Pancake bottom, if you will). I have...I believe 20 new pairs of earrings to add. Some are for my new "Spoil Yourself" collection. That might be the dumbest name ever, but I like it. You'll get it. It'll grow on ya. All these new goodies will be available in my shop soon!

I'm sorry for being absent the past couple of days. And now, I have to get ready to go to WORK WORK go to WORK. Oh, Fergie.

Olive Susanne! She is perfect!

I can't wait to meet my little niece. My brother Jacob sounded so happy on the phone; I nearly cried. His wife Ginger also has 2 little girls, Natalie & Sophie. I haven't gotten to meet any of them yet because they live states away, so I have THREE nieces & a sister in law to meet! I get to see them in August & I am so excited. Sorry for the lack of posts; I am out of town for my "niece" (my good friend's daughter) Olivia's 4th bday. She's one of the most gorgeous little ones you will ever see. So sweet & silly. I will be back tomorrow with a fresh new post. For now, more peectures of the newest member of my family. Sorry for the lack of quality; all I have are cam phone pictures so far!

Today was a relaxing yet exciting day. I have a lot of photos to share with you because of that, so be patient! First off, I finally finished my mini update...

Now that that's out of the way, I have something important to tell you. My oldest nephew, my little baby nephew Ethan, turned 14 today. Let me say that again, f o u r t e e n . I told him he's gross. 14 year old boys are gross. Haha. He knows I love him so much. That's so very strange to me. I'm 10 years older than him (I'll be 24 in October), so I made sure he knew how "old" he made me feel today. No, I don't think I'm old, but it feels so strange to me to think I have a teenage nephew. I told him last year on his 13th bday that he was gross then too. I know; I'm such a nice aunt. Actually, I'm his favorite, & he has a lot of aunts on his Dad's & Step Mom's sides. So HA on all of them. I talked to him for a good 30 minutes, & it made me realize how much I really miss him. He lives in Missouri & I'm in Texas. Doing grown up things makes it harder & harder to travel with my family, so I haven't seen him since 2007 :( That makes me so sad. I will see him in August though, along with the rest of my family. I'm excited! I taught Ethan about all of the important things in life, like poop, farts, & that I'm the prettiest girl in the world. He better remember all of that. I feel the need to post some pictures of my nephews now, so I shall indeed...

I LOVE THESE BOYS! I love their Mom just as much. I'm praying for her. She's going to be going through something tough the next few days, so even though you don't know her whatsoever, it would be nice if she could be in your thoughts, at least a little bit.

Guess who else celebrated a birthday today? My good ol baby dog Baxter turned TWO! That's fourteen in dog years, so Ethan & Baxter celebrated the same birthday together...but apart...and they've never met...neat? I don't know. Anyway, we went to the Arboretum & took the puppies for an hour long walk. It was HOT but they loved it. The squirrels drove them nuts. I took some lovely photos...

This totally happened.

I don't know what kind of plants those were up there...but they are damn pretty, aren't they? I know, I know. Wonderful. You know what's NOT wonderful? The fact that I was on such a good roll with going to the gym...then I didn't go for 3 days. I felt so guilty! Two of those days I thought the gym closed later than it did. Who closes at 10 on Fri & 8 on Sat??? LA Fitness, apparently. Oh well. I went back tonight just in time to run for 45 mins. I ran 4.11 miles & burned 458 calories. I know I can do better, so I wasn't TOO impressed with myself, but it was way more worthwhile than not going at all! Then, when I came home in an awesome mood, made an awesome smoothie (I'm telling you people, you need to add Medjool dates! AWESOME!), checked my awesome email, I saw I had an awesome message from an awesome Etsian! My friend Amy from SparkleRocks told me that I was on the front page again! AWESOME. I will stop saying that now; promise. It's been a long time since I've been on there, & sales have been slooow, so I was excited. I checked Etsy & I happened to be on at that moment!

Then, I sold my little deer dish! I was happy yet sad at the same time, because I love it so much. It was inspired by my puppy Baxter, so how appropriate that it was featured & sold on his bday! Right? I know. Neatooo. The buyer was also a sweet mama named Alexis who happened to feature me on her blog, The Posh Passy.

I'm so wooooood.
I love wood grain. I think the whole style of wood grain prints became really popular again several years ago (if I remember accurately, if not then I sound like a big idiot), & since then it has really had quite some staying power. For me personally, I can't get enough of it. Those cute little Etsy finds remind me of a project that has been written down in one of my gajillion brainstorming notebooks & has been stuck in my mind ever since. Now I am reminded of this lovely little project (that I hope turns out just as great as I imagine in my head! Don't you hate it when that DOESN'T happen?! AHH). I have the weekend off, so it's definitely CRAFT TIME.

This coloring book is funny on its own, because of the concept alone. Then you have to think about the fact that real men actually make these dumb poses for photos. Granted, these are a little better than the spread eagle route some ladies choose to travel, but still. Grown men posin nekked. It's a silly thought, isn't it?! When I was a child, I loved coloring. I still do, but now I am an adult (do I HAVE to be one, already?! I'm only 23 and a half!). And now, being an adult, it's only right for me to grow up & get an adult coloring book. These are the necessary steps we have to take in life in order to grow up. And grow up I shall. Now, where are my crayolas & safety scissors? I'ma make my mom some pwetty awt fow the fwidge.

Geeze, check me out, with my love of anything poop related.

Ok, this just makes me laugh. I just know my friends so well, & they're the kind of people who would get great joy in receiving this along with their baby shower gift. If I was having a litter, I'd love to get this card from a loving chum! Remember that folks. :) If you ARE offended in any way, remember this is something you give to a loved one as a joke because it's unexpected, & you know what they had to do to get that baby in the first place. JUMP ON IT ;) This is NOT a card you give to someone you dislike (unless they're a complete bitch, then go ahead), someone who is having a particularly rough time & extremely emotional pregnancy, or a stranger on the street. You don't know their situation. Don't judge, holmes. Now that that's clear, we can move on...goatcards also had a fabulous card that stated something along the lines of "Congratulations on your wedding...Thanks for the free booze", which would have been TOTALLY appropriate for my friend Laura's wedding. I'm sorry dear. I'm glad I didn't do anything ridiculous though! Even if I had, there were enough drunk people there, that my shenanigans would've gone unnoticed. The best man passed out sitting up, so I think I'm golden over here.

Speaking of saucin it up, that was one of the last times I drank. I haven't had a sip of alcohol all of 2009! Wow; it's going by so fast. We're already half way through with this year. Very weird to think about actually. I wish I had enough time to get all of the things accomplished that I intended to for this year. I guess I still have 6 months, huh...

I have been drinking smoothies EVERY day for dinner lately. I add in a couple dates & it gives the smoothie some magically delicious chewy chunks. Pretty awesome. I just enjoyed a homemade clusterhump of fruit right now, as a matter of fact. I put as many kinds of fruit as I possibly can into that blender and VOILA! Awesome dinner. I tend to get burnt out on something when I eat it all the time, however, and I think even though I love this routine I have going on, I am going to need a treat sometime in the near future. I have been eyeing desserts on The Cupcake Mint's Etsy shop for quite a while. Check these out...

Those are my top 3 choices of what to order. They are the original vegan bake shop on Etsy, & I think their pictures are the most mouth watering too. I don't have any super sweet craving attacks yet, but I'm sure they'll creep up on me soon enough. Those really do look amazing, don't they?! I just farted with excitement. I really do think I deserve them, though, because tonight I did another good run. 5.74 miles & burned 514 calories! So proud of myself again :) I'm not bragging, I'm just documenting how good I feel right now, so I am more likely to stay motivated!

I was reading Lacey's blog today & I noticed I'm in her links in the sidebar. I felt so special! Yeeee! You should really check out her blog; she's absolutely adorable! She describes herself as "an unmarried, childless housewife", & I can totally relate. Except for the fact that my dogs are my "children", if you can't tell by now. This unmarried, childless housewife needs to go snuggle with her boyfriend, as cheesy as that sounds. I love heem :)

I feel sick. I ate WAY too much granola. Boo on that. Also, boo on the gym tonight. I made the mistake of going when it was PACKED & there were ZERO vacant eliptical machines. There is a sign that clearly states, "There is a 20 minute limit on all cardio equipment when people are waiting." So basically, "If we're PACKED, get your ass off the eliptical after 20 mins, holmes." Clearly, people can't read, or don't care. Jerks. Moving on. I got on the bike for 5 miles & left. I was annoyed. I'm not a fan of running on the treadmill. I have a fear that I will slip & hit my face. Or lose my footing. Either would be funny if it happened to someone else, but I don't like it when my face hurts, ok?

I did, however, get something accomplished today. I listed 2 new housewares that I love on Etsy. I showed a peek of them in a post a couple days ago, but I really like this picture of them together, so I shall show you again...

Happy Fasha's Day!

I mentioned yesterday that my boyfriend went to visit his Dad for Father's Day. Well, the puppies laid on the ground by the front door for a bit waiting for him to come back. How sad/cute is that?! I had to take pictures of them.

How adorable is that? Seriously. Well last night was the first night staying all by myself in this house. It was very strange. I love time to myself, but it was a little weird at night. The dogs kept barking at things & since there were a few "break ins" (technically they just walked in to unlocked houses!) in the neighborhood a couple weeks ago, it freaked me out. Not real bad style, just a little. I slept with a baseball bat next to the bed for protection. haha. You know, I figure that if I'm protected in some way then nothing will happen. No baseball bat, & I'm in danger. And Christopher always sleeps on the side of the bed closer to the door, so he would get raped first in the event of a rape attack (NO I do not think rape is a joke whatsoever, I just figure boys sleep by the door for protection & peace of mind!...piece of mind? Which is it? Oh nevermind). I just had to take precautions. Wouldn't it be cool if a burglar came in the house, & I say, "If you want to steal my shit, you have to play me a game of baseball first. If I win, you leave. If you win, take it all, buddy." Then we play & I win. I love saving the day. That sounds like a movie plot. Can baseball be a two person game? Shows what I know about sports. Good thing there WASN'T any form of burglar confrontation mixed with baseball challenges last night, huh? I would've been in trouble. I promise I did not smoke my breakfast. Good Lord I am strange.

Moving on. A few days ago when we took the dogs for a walk, a bigger dog found us & wanted to play. He was so sweet, but he was WAY too big to play with our dogs. They tried to play, but he scared them. Layla ran around & wrapped the leash around my leg. I got a gnarly rope burn near my ankle. It's red & itchy which usually means infection I think, but I keep using hydrogen peroxide on it & Neosporin. The dogs love the taste of Neosporin, by the way. They keep trying to lick it. Gross. Maybe that's why it's red & itchy?! Once Baxter ran around very excited and wrapped around my leg, leaving a deep (deep for a rope burn at least) scrape in my knee pit. You know, the back of your knee. haha. These things are kind of dangerous. Check this out...

Losing a Finger
Heather Todd lost a portion of her left index finger in a Flexi retractable leash accident in 2005. Her yellow Labrador retriever, Penny, was hooked to a friend's retractable leash when the dog became excited. The 90-pound dog bolted after something and Todd said she lost control of the handle, which caused to cord to burn her arm. When she instinctively tried to brush the cord off her arm, Todd said her finger got caught and she was pulled to the ground and dragged for four or five feet.

"I look up and there's a finger tip right in front of me," she said, adding that she was in such shock she at first thought the finger was a child's Halloween-type toy. "I didn't comprehend, 'Oh, Heather, there's your fingertip laying there in the sand.'" Found here.

Gross. Super gross. There's a caption on a picture of a girl who suffered vision loss when the leash hit her in the eye. AHH. That's awful. Poor girl. Here's my little booboo that doesn't nearly compare to vision loss.

I would like to talk about something good & not lethal now. I wanted to post this last night, but I literally fell asleep while typing. haha. You might have seen Margaux Lange's jewelry featured before a few times, & you know what? I don't care if you've seen it a MILLION times, because it's still worth mentioning. Check this stuff out. She is one incredibly talented little lady. In 6th or 7th grade I used to think that I could sell Barbie heel necklaces. I decked them out in glitter & rhinestones (go figure) and nearly killed my fingers poking holes in them to put jump rings through. I was pretty inventive at the time & I sold a couple of them at school...but Margaux really knows what she's doing. And she makes my Barbie heel necklaces look like dog poop. So we've seen Barbie's accessories repurposed, but the actual doll? Pretty cool. I just imagine handcrafting all of these perfect pieces takes some patience, man.

Tonight is the second & last night by myself, so maybe I'll add a tennis racket to my bedside collection. Let's see what happens.

EDIT::: I should probably write something about my Dad since it IS his day, after all.

My silly Dad, William.
He is a witty, clever, funny funny man, a "Computer Nerd"/Genius, a complex yet simple fellow who can definitely make you giggle if not laugh out loud. There are so many times when I hear myself say something, & it solidifies the fact that he definitely lost a part of his brain & gave it to me when I arrived in this world, because that's what happens when you have kids. Didn't you know that? They take a piece of your brain. Well your sanity, I'm sure. I am definitely his child, & I love that. My brother Steve (SHTIVEN!) & I are so glad to have equal parts of both our Mom's & Dad's personalities. They are great people & I love them. But it's not "Parent's Day"; it's "Father's Day". I LOVE YOU DAD! Thank you for being the odd, silly man you are, because I wouldn't have you any other way! Thank you for the unconventional way you taught us lessons to make us remember not to do the same dumb shit over and over (even though we probably did quite a few times). Thank you for preparing me for parenthood in the future. Thank you for carrying me upstairs when I was "little", even though I was a damn heavy kid. Thank you for getting on your knees to dance with me to "Talking Heads" when I was a toddler. Thank you for capturing our AWESOME funny kid moments on video, because otherwise we just would have to guess how awesome we actually were. Thanks for being my FASHA!

Don't worry Mom; Mother's Day has come & gone but I know how wonderful you are & I know when your Birthday is! One day you will get an entire paragraph dedicated to you & your greatness. I love you!

Christopher is out of town visiting his Dad for Fathers Day this weekend. I didn't know what to do with myself, & I've been wanting to get in the habit of working out...so I went to the gym.

I don't remember when I was last at the gym exactly, but we do have memberships & we both barely ever go. He does go more than I do; I have to give him that. Anyway, I decided to just get on the eliptical and see what happened from there...I ran for an hour & ended up running almost 6 miles (5.76 to be exact) & burning 520 calories! It was so exciting! I didn't even hurt...I really don't think I have EVER run for an hour. Isn't that silly? Well I am definitely passing out now, seeing how it's 2am. More tomorrow!

No white shoes after labor day!

Every season I think we all get stuck on a certain color trend, & sometimes it fades with the season, but other times it sticks around...Or am I just tired & don't know what's what? WHAT'S GOING ON?! AHHHH! Now that I'm done doing that, I can get down to bidniz. All this color & season talk makes me think of the movie "Serial Mom" when she kills Patty Hearst's character, who, in my opinion, went through enough in life without having her character KILLED. With a PAY PHONE.

"712 F*** YOU!" "Ooo-eee, ooo-eee" (imitating bird calls). I love when she sings "Day break" while the cop is chasing her. Ohhhhhh goodness. So many great scenes. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you need to see Serial Mom. It's great. Kathleen Turner is awesome in it. I love John Waters movies. How creepy is he though? Ultimate creepster for sure.

Ok, back to business for real this time. Pinky swear. I was really loving combinations of yellow & gray in the spring, which is what inspired the color block tote I created a couple of months ago (can you spot it in the collage!), & I'm still really feeling it. I think several years ago Michael Kors had a collection with some pastel yellows which I absolutely loved. I don't know; I don't really pay too much attention to things I can't afford. You know what else is lovely? LOVE. That's right, LOVE. And I am IN IT. I am not afraid to talk about it. I used to be one of those people who thought love & all love related things were GROSS. Not for everyone else; for them it was cute. For me, nah. I recall gagging out loud to the concept of a relationship when one boy brought it up. I also once told a boy that I would throw up on him if he brought me flowers to work like he said he had wanted to do. That's rude. R U D E. I'm rude. Well, I was. I started dating Christopher, & we both took each other seriously right away. Sounds cheesy, but I "knew". I really did.

I love him so much. I don't care if that's gross to you. You hear me? I DON'T CARE. We've been through a lot, & he is one of my very very best friends & favorite people. We have a million nicknames for each other, we tell each other "I love you" every 5 minutes, & we function happily as the little family unit that we are (with our puppy children). He's my beautiful baby man, & while I was on my little hiatus from blogging, we celebrated our most successful milestone yet...Our one year anniversary :)

He was double coursing at school, going almost 14 hours a day. Our one year falling on May 7, which was a school day, he would get home at almost 9pm so going out to dinner was virtually a no go unless we were counting on McDonald's, which we weren't...I don't think vegans have a lot of choices at McDonald's anyway. I got crafty with some Christmas lights, old drapes, & a makeshift table (not in the pictures), & I came up with this...

A little outdoor restaurant! I made dinner (not worth mentioning...I tried my hand at some makeshift drunken noodles. Christopher liked them, but he was probably being nice) & dessert (a vegan brownie with non dairy ice cream melting on top mmm), & set up candles. I was convinced the drapes might get set on fire because it was so windy, but everything was ok. And it was pretty. I wish I got some better shots of our silly "romantic" outdoor dining experience. You get the idea though.

What else did I neglect to inform you about in May? Aha...Mother's Day! I made a dish previously that I showed my Mom & she loved, so I decided to make her a similar one, in her favorite colors.

I wanted her to actually use it! There are a ton of things she could use it for...

Instead, she wants to keep it on top of the desk in the kitchen, along with all of our other creations. Oh well, it's her present. If she wants to set it next to a shitty lighthouse I made in 8th grade, that's her thing, man. That's her dream, & I won't destroy it. Man I'm tired. haha.

I have 2 other dishes available in my shop right now! You can find them in the housewares section. The little deer was inspired by one of my puppies, Baxter (the brown one). He curls up like a little baby deer sometimes. I love my little ones. Check them out, all cuddlin n shit.

Don't you just want to squeeze them? In a totally cute, non violent way? I know, me too. That's all for tonight, ladies & lads.

Short & Sweet.

This post will have to be short & sweet because I work a double at my "real job" today. Boo! Here are a couple of shots I took of my backyard back in January when I was playing around with my new camera. I was really impressed with the macro!

In that first shot, I didn't even notice that cute, weird bug was there until I started focusing in. Isn't that a lucky shot?! I have no idea what kind of bug it is, but he is pretty cool with his polka dotted coat & everything. I like that photo so much, I have it hanging up in my bathroom!

Now onto more important news. If there are those of you who sit & wait & count down the minutes (seconds maybe) until the treasuries open, there is something you definitely need to see...

Redecorate, Reorganize, Rethink, ReRes!

That's right. I have a PhD in crazy. I mean, greatness. Yes, a PhD in greatness. What makes me want to inspire you?

Well, my laptop is becoming increasingly packed to the brim. My Dad "fixed" it for me, meaning he made it a LITTLE less slow than it was. The majority of the space being taken up (I think I have about 20% of the room left that I started with on my poor comp!) is by pictures. I have TONS of pictures. Of friends, family, funny stuff, & random CRAP (some are literally pictures of crap, don't ask me why). I desperately needed to go through my zillions of files & delete unnecessary photos. As I was doing this (I started, but I definitely have NOT finished), I found some beautiful photos of great spaces that I wanted to share. I don't have any information on these rooms, no idea where I found them, how old they are, nada. If you know anything about them, feel free to comment & I'll add the info here. Take a looksy...

Those really make me want to redecorate. I have used my budget (or lack thereof) & my belongings mixed with my boyfriends to make the most of our adorable home. He's more into simple elements & colors, while I like splashes of turquoise & purple orchids. Whatever hot pink or lime green objects I have collected over time that don't have a place in our home end up in my craft room. My poor craft room. It's not only full of all my supplies (which I keep adding to...I have a problem), but it's crammed with those said items that I don't have a place for. I recently rearranged some things, hung stuff up on the walls, reorganized, etc...and here are a few shots of what I have come up with. I am not finished, & I don't even think everything matches...but I like each little nook of my room.

I don't think anyone would look at those pictures and say, "Wow. I want my craft room to look JUST LIKE JENNA'S." because I really wouldn't look at it and say that. I'm not finished with it, but it is a great place to create, because I'm surrounded by bright colors & a bunch of little things that I love. Make sure you surround yourself with things you love, wherever you like to create whatever it is you create, whether it be in your studio, kitchen, backyard, bedroom, or even bathroom (hey, I don't judge). And make sure you take care of your surroundings. I didn't take as much care of my laptop as I should have, & I thought it was almost a goner the other day. What a horrible feeling, seriously. Sounds silly to some people, but I have SO MUCH INFORMATION that I can't afford to lose on this thing. I really need to back up my files & delete ALL of the unnecessary information. I mean, you can't keep expanding or your pants won't fit anymore, right? Right. Speaking of that, I have been eating better & it feels pretty swell if you ask me. More on that later.

My boyfriend is singing to our dogs in the other room right now, and it is in somewhat of a howling manner...VERY similar to when Geena Davis & one of the brothers Baldwin were making "scary" noises to freak the poop out of the new family in Beetlejuice. Naw mean? Just wanted to share. "Can you blog more about me, tell the people how awesome I am? And how women should come knock on our door if they want to make love to me?" What a weirdo. MY weirdo. I love him.

Between "real jobs" & custom orders & new projects & being a mom to my puppies & being a good girlfriend/housewifey, I somehow let my blog sit on the back burner, for quite a while! I apologize.

Kearsie, I'm alright. Thank you for worrying about me, like the mommy you are. I'm not dead. If dead people can blog, that's awesome, but in this case, I'm alive & kickin.

I promise I'll be back. It's kind of like one of those things where...you intend to write a letter to someone, & you wait soo long to do it. Time keeps going by and you think there's either so much to say that you don't know where to begin, or you think that too much time's gone by, so why bother?

I have received a few blog comments recently, & with the lack of activity on my blog, it made me think that I must've been doing something right. Right? Right. :) Left. But I digress. I have been MIA and I apologize. AGAIN. My boyfriend has actually been home the last 3 weeks (he is usually at school for almost 14 hours a day!!!), and we have been enjoying our time together. Our puppy has been enjoying it also. I have to get a big girl job of some sort, and our poor pup has been spoiled with so much time with his mom, and he hates being alone now. ~~We are probably getting him a friend (another wiener dog) tomorrow morning! FINGERS CROSSED THEY GET ALONG & LOVE EACH OTHER OR IT'S A NO GO!~~ We got a beautiful little baby! I'm so excited to show you my new family...

The journey of Baxter & Layla's friendship.

This is Baxter, aka Poopers, Pupperton, Puppertonino, Pooter, BRD (Brown Red Dapple), when he was a happy little gentleman. He was my only baby.

...but Poopers was sad; he wanted a friend!

So we took a trip to the animal shelter, and adopted a beautiful 5 month old girl named Palin.

Baxter wasn't really havin this. Maybe he hated her name. So we changed it to Bella, and then after I randomly sang an Eric Clapton song out loud, she became LAYLA!

They began exploring and playing (videos coming soon), & soon Poopers was attached...

DOG FASHION. R U D E. Rude. Don't worry; they're both fixed & he doesn't know what the hell he's doing. Air humper.

They play so much that they sleep a LOT. It's pretty cute.

POOPERS + LITTLE ONE = THE BEST OF FRIENDS.

Ahh, I love her already! They really are adorable. I kind of miss Poopers being my only baby, but I will get used to this pretty quickly & so will he.

Besides enjoying the weekdays together, we have been doing fun stuff on the weekends too. Fun stuff used to consist of getting wasted face & blacking out. It now consists of doing "boring" grown up things, like getting library cards, going grocery shopping together, taking our dog for a walk, etc. I actually love doing these things now. I bet a year ago I wouldn't have thought I would be saying something like that now.

A couple of weekends ago, my wonderful boyfriend Christopher, Baxter (the awesome sausage dog), & I went to The Mercer Arboretum & checked out nature. I never used to do things like this, & I am really starting to love Spring, TX the more we explore it. Our neighborhood is absolutely adorable, & there is a little "beach" behind it! I will have to take some pictures of it, but I'm obviously a procrastinator, so who knows when this will happen? So anyway, nature is awesome, & I have some pictures of it...

There is also another new thing in our lives, something that I am getting some really weird reactions about...We are newly vegan, as of about February 21 or 22. I'm still getting the hang of this. At first, it was about being healthy (my body doesn't love dairy that much anyway), & finally being on some kind of diet AT THE SAME TIME as my boyfriend! I used to not want to watch videos on the conditions that the animals live & die in, because I loved hot dogs & chicken too much. I realized choosing to be ignorant was pretty selfish. I wouldn't want to lecture anyone though. Choosing to learn about all of this made me cry & cry. I just thought of someone hurting my own dog in that manner. It honestly was enough. Moving along...

Sooo the other weekend I made these cookies (I got the recipe out of some book from Borders that I can't remember the name of!) & they were pretty good, but the dough was AWESOME. We couldn't stop eating it! Plus there aren't any eggs in it, so I can eat it all I want...MOM! She always told me not to eat cookie dough cause I'd get worms...?

I went to San Antonio last weekend to see my friend Athena's baby girl. So so cute & perfect. Her name is Riley Ann & she looks just like a tiny version of her Mommy!

She's the intellectual type. Always thinking.

I made these necklaces for this girl Andrea's bridesmaids. NINE bridesmaids! I don't think I even have 9 girl friends anymore. Shit. She was really sweet so I made her a custom necklace as a surprise! :)

Here are 4 bridesmaids necklaces for another bride, Carrie. She was super sweet as well and also got a necklace from me as a gift! I really like the way the packaging came out...

Here's a housewares project I'm almost completely finished with for my shop. I love these branches.

Black & white is always a classic combination, & yellow really says, "SPRING IS HERE HOLMES!" Well, I'm sure it would say that if it colors could talk. Man, I WISH colors could talk. Turquoise and I would have awesome conversations. I really love turquoise. BFFL. :) Wow, sometimes I say things that only a pothead would say, all the while my lungs are completely clear over here. Promise. Anyway, back on track. I am really loving gold right now too, which is pretty much just a snazzy, shiny, dressed up yellow isn't it? Yep. Sure is.

So something really neat besides the whole front page thing happened...I received a little note from myshoppingconnection from Etsy last week notifying me that my bubbled apple earrings were picked to be one of the indie finds on IndieSpotting.com! I assume they were on the site for an hour or a whole day, and either way it is very flattering!

Boy oh boy do I love me some Beastie Boys. I also love my craft room. Here are some shots of it. Some photos show a mess. Every time I create awesomeness, I create a mess. That is why I don't have pictures of the entire room. I forgot to snap shots of my sewing area. Whoops! Anyway, enough rambling...enjoy this space that I love (and spend ALL my time in)...

Here are some bright, beautiful things on a shelf I painted black; it used to be a pretty pale yellow that I loved, but didn't match with my already eclectic collection of things.

That mirror below the shelf is one of my favorite things. My mom got it at a craft fair in the 60s or 70s and it is made of a chunk of real wood. It is so beautiful; I need a better picture of it. You can also see my vintage Doors poster (mmm Mr. Morrison) and my cluttered old dresser. I painted all of my old furniture turquoise a few years ago and I still love it.

Here is my messy workspace. It used to be a sofa table that was in my parents' living room for YEARS. I revised and repurposed it quite well, I think :)
I adore this key plaque, above my bulletin board. Right now there is only a pretty pretty piece of floral paper on the board, but before I moved it was my inspiration board (it will be again soon if I get around to it). I also adore this old white shelf. The knobs are great for hanging up new jewelry! The little tree from Ikea is handy (I have one in white as well that you can see in the picture above). The shelf is cluttered because I moved things around recently and have not gotten around to finding a place for all of my knick knacks. That cube shelf from Target is also something I am going to need a full picture of; I have my fabric organized by color and it's pretty sweet ass.

I believe my Mom made this tapestry thingy (yes, that's it's proper name). I use it to hold brooches for my vintage shop. The necklace below can be found here.

I doodled a random design on this canvas years ago, and though I liked it, I didn't like it enough to hang it up. The other night, I decided to turn it into an earring holder! I think it looks much better this way rather than a piece of art.

This is one of those projects I told you about that I am so excited about!!! :) I love these branches. They are for decoration or to hold jewelry (or both). They will be added to the shop soon, and I am planning different color schemes already. I love new endeavours.

I LOVE this colorblock purse. I love the soft colors and the braid. It makes me so happy. Yes, a purse makes me happy. haha. I am a girl after all. Here is a new necklace that will be available this week, and a shot of the "planning stage".

Here is the same purse and squares necklace, along with a seahorse with sparkling accents, a chunky clear beaded silver necklace, and a dainty gold chain with white shell beads and a seafoam briolette. So pretty.

Here are some ready to hang miniature paintings I started quite some time ago and decided to finish. I'm glad I've been on a "painting kick", because I really like the way these turned out. The octopus has nails in it so it can "hold" your jewelry for you! I hope you enjoyed my space.

Cupcakes are awesome. When I get married, I think I just want a million cupcakes in place of a cake. I've been super busy creating cute presents for my friend's baby shower yesterday, which I didn't even get to end up going to :(

Well, this will be a well rounded post...

First of all, I love the following pictures. The vintage materials, the red, pink, blue, white, green...So pretty. Soso pretty. The colors and aspects of these photos actually remind me of projects I'm currently working on for jennamichelle, and even comparing them makes me happy.

This dainty group of vintage supplies can be found here in raindropsonroses on Etsy. The set includes random vintage pieces, beads, an earring missing it's other half, & cute vintage charms. The tiny, girly collection is titled "Grandma's Kitchen". How adorable is that? Grandma's kitchens are always adorable, ~~unless~~ especially when they reek of cigarettes and bourbon.

These mini dream catchers by Tamar @ "nest pretty things" are so cute and good for any season really. Use them as cute little accents in your home anywhere...hang them on doorknobs, in your kitchen, on plants, and use them as ornaments on your Christmas tree! They're so dainty & delicate. Don't forget since they ARE dream catchers after all, hang them above your bed! Maybe they can help ward off those night terrors you've been having...:)

Ahh, who doesn't enjoy a nice face blanket every once in a while? My boyfriend recently shaved his sexy beard off because it was getting a little ZZ Topish. This is not SACreligeous...pun intended ;) Seriously though, they take verses from the Bible, pictures of people in fanny packs, and find a relevance for the two to combine in a calendar meant for fashion conscious friends of Jesus that want to manage their year efficiently. The calendar pictures on the Etsy listing are silly and remind me of people strolling a craft fair I once visited. I heard two interesting things at said fair:
1."Oh, fiddlesticks" (said by an elderly voice in my neighboring bathroom stall...refer to the paragraph on the T.P. earrings)
2. "You look like a young Susan Sarandon". Was it a compliment? I wasn't sure. Apparently it was, because the old dude loved her.

He is one bad mother shut-yo-mouth. No, I'm not talkin bout Shaft! I'm referring to all that is awesome, Mr. T himself. I pity the fool that doesn't appreciate this SUCKAAAA! This has to be one of those random awesome ideas that pops into your head in the middle of the night, after you've calmed down from the peak of your seventh night terror (SNAP OUT OF IT!). This is an idea worthy of keeping post-its handy on the nightstand, just in case. As far as the shank on your nightstand...you kidding? Obviously not the brightest idea, seeing how you have night terrors and everything...

I am kicking myself in the face (yeah, I'm pretty talented) for not getting this for my boyfriend's birthday. I would have loved to place a pile of poop on his cake. Yes, we're a couple of "chidults" (adult children, duh) who giggle about poop. More so me in the poop department, and him in the farts. Nevertheless, this is a wonderful candle. Poop smells bad (depending on your food choices I guess; I don't want to jump to conclusions about EVERYONE), candles smell good. Well, they're supposed to smell good. Some smell like nasty old crayons or moth balls. This candle is neither 57 year old Crayola or geriatric scented; it's chocolate! In conclusion, I give the poop candle a thumbs up, or two. Three if I had the option.

You are sitting down to make in a public stall, when, OH MY! There's no toilet paper! What to do? Use your hands? Oh, heaven's no. Wear these earrings every day of your life, and you won't have to worry about being stuck in this predicament ever again. Ok in all seriousness, please don't wipe your nethers with seed beads. Especially seed beads so delicately weaved into the most interesting earrings ever. Somebody else has post-its on their nightstand don't they! ;)

Porno, Shmorno! Staches are for everyone! Now you can drink in style. Mustaches are both elegant & sexually appealing. Most men can grow them, if they are real men that is, and now women & children can sport a handsome stache too! When you sip from this glass, it will appear as though you have a full grown hair monster cuddling your upper lip! Oh, the gasps and awe of passers by, as they witness a mustache appear and disappear with ease! "IT'S DAVID BLANE!" they'll shout. No, sweet child...it's the magic of meticulously placed glass etching. I just so happened to purchase this glass for my mustache-loving boyfriend, and it's absolutely adorable. I won't let him have a lip blanket of his own, because as much as I'd like to be dating Burt Reynolds himself, I'm not. Let's keep it real, folks. This glass is the next best thing to having a real stache. Kudos to BreadandBadger. Buy it, but if the company you keep thinks you are magical, then you have very "special" friends. If they are this impressed by you, definitely keep them for the daily self esteem boosts.

Onto equally pretty, but not so much silly...

In my opinion, HarperStreet is quite an underrated Etsian. This shop offers simple yet eye catching jewelry that can be dressed up or down. You should definitely check it out!

Nautical? Radical. Yeah, I really said that.

What did you want me to say? Nautical & Radical don't rhyme, but they DO both end in ICAL, and that's pretty neat. They also correlate pretty well since the simple straight fact is that nautical stuff IS radical. Ok. Couldn't get myself to say "Nautical? Hautical!", especially in a pretty font. I am not a fan of the word "hot" being spelled in ridiculous ways. HOTT, haut, haute, hawt, etc. NOT HOT; Gross. Radical is one of the great words that the 80s gave us. Thank you, 1980s, for something worth celebrating.

I especially love the "Pervert" one, seeing how I like to deem myself a pun-loving pervert. Not a Peeping Thomas kind of pervert (I like formal names), but more of a "haha you said wiener" kind. So, in conclusion, I'm pretty damn sure I need to own that necklace. I have extreme Paintshop Pro skills, by the way, in case you hadn't noticed but I'm sure you did because it definitely looks as though I'm wearing those necklaces for real. I'm also really good at creating run-on sentences.

glitter & rhinestones.

As it says up there on the top in the left column, this blog is named (among other reasons such as EVERY BLOG NAME ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH IS TAKEN!!!) for the fact that my wonderful older sister Jessica was well aware of my craftiness and insisted that I would eventually cover the world in glitter & rhinestones! Very appropriate name for my blog, I think.

Thankfully, my creativity matured. I used to do really weird stuff. I remember when I was VERY young, I would pour neon fabric paint into Dixie cups, and drop in fake flowers and seashells. When they would dry, I would cut off the bottom of the cup. What did that leave me with? A strange, obnoxious disc of CRAP that I loved for some reason. I wonder what happened to those crap discs...

I would also literally cover anything with glitter. I loved glitter. I ruined my Fisher Price kitchen dishes because I had some fascination with making fake drinks with water, glitter, glue...basically whatever random things I could get my small hands on. Water evaporates, and wet glitter turns into moldy smelling glitter that has fixed itself to the plastic. Ugly mess. I actually remember my Mom hosing off all the dishes and the little kitchenette thing because she wanted to give it to Goodwill instead of throwing it away. I think I helped, but probably not. I was a brat. But look how I turned out now! :) Didn't improve much, honestly...the kitchenette, not me! I'm AWESOME. My hands are still small by the way; I'm talking size of 8 year old kids' hands small. Yep. Baby hands here (in fact that's one of my lovely boyfriend's nicknames for me). I'm not a circus freak, ok :(

Enough rambling. I have searched Etsy for the finest in glitter & rhinestones, and that's what you will find in the next 2 collages! Enjoy.

I love glitter. Anytime I leave the Christmas section of a store, it looks like I have made out with all of the ornaments. I got glitter in my eye once at Wal-Mart. That's what I get for checking out corporate made Christmas goods. I prefer handmade goods covered in glitter instead, anyway.

I am having the BIGGEST craving EVER (no I'm not prego; refer to the post title). I want to resist the urge, and I have been eating so healthy, but this craving is pulling at me. My tummy is turning in need of this craving. And it's all from a product that randomly entered my mind while I was minding my own business, driving home after buying some supplies (that I'm really excited about, by the way). This product is 99 cents and I'm holding myself back from grabbing my keys hauling ass to the nearest convenient store! What's causing me so much anguish?

Some damn COOLER RANCH DORITOS...yes, I'm fully aware they took the "er" away but they will always be Cooler to me. Best chips in all the land.

I was wondering if I could recreate these chips at home and hopefully in a healthier manner. If not healthier, than at least I would be aware of what was IN the chips. And by the time I would have finished trying to create a chip masterpiece, whether or not I succeeded, my urge to down a whole bag would be gone. No, I haven't been toking up; I just love COOLER RANCH DORITOS!

I searched and searched and found ONE recipe! I have almost everything to make these, but something tells me wheat tortillas won't do the trick...

I got sidetracked and couldn't stop browsing his site. His most recent entry is for Mashed Potato Pizza which sounds gross at first, but check out the pictures. This stuff looks amazing.

Awwww yeahhhh. That looks so good doesn't it? Go check out his recipes & get inspired to make some wonderful food.

On a completely unrelated but equally interesting note, I love wood grain. A lot. I love wood grain being on something totally unrelated to a tree, like a purse...or even a cookie! Check these pretty little handmade items out.

That's Baxter, my little gentleman (yes, I named him that because of "Anchorman"! GREAT movie).

He's quite the adventurous pup. Goes by many different names including but not limited to Pupperton, Poopers, Pooter, Puppertononian, & Baby Dog. He enjoys cuddles, jelly beans, biting my hands, ripping apart stuffed animals, and short walks on the leash.

Yes, he's my child. I made him. Birthed him. Gross.

So I totally forgot about these earrings because I saw them ages ago, but I rediscovered them this morning when I saw staroftheeast on the front page of Etsy. They are probably the second most exciting thing I've seen today! An elderly man with short shorts and a patriotic bandana rolled up and tied around his head taking a happy jog through my neighborhood steals the spot for #1, but alas, no picture...

You can find these AWESOME jellyfish earrings made of REAL sea urchins here in staroftheeast's shop. She has a lot more jewelry made with these urchins. I love when I see something and get inspired by it, but I can't imagine the thought process of putting these together!

Speaking of inspiration...

Here's some decoration inspiration! OliveSomeday takes vintage frames and paints them vibrant colors, and inserts an illustration from an old children's book. This totally fits my style of taking something old and making it new. I probably like all of her blue frames so much because I happened to paint all my OLD furniture turquoise once, and it is all sitting in my craft room as we speak! Chipped, but still pretty. My goal for 2009 is to stay organized. So far, it's working! And this book is helping! I saw a section of Borders I had never seen before (Paperchase) and I just couldn't help myself. The colors of everything were so damn pretty! But I digress...

I was sad to see that the following item, which may hurt virgin little eyes, was SOLD just yesterday!
